I am a writer and historian of race, law, and empire in modern Africa.
I hold a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. in History from Harvard University. My research examines the history of Italian colonialism in Somalia and its legacies in memory, social formations, and material culture.
I’m currently a President’s Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and I will be joining the Department of History as an assistant professor in the fall of 2026.
